Portuguese international footballer Nani arrived to a euphoric welcome at Lisbon airport last night as he was greeted by a multitude of Sporting supporters.

The winger returns to the Portuguese capital seven years after leaving for England in a part exchange deal which sees Argentine international defender Marcos Rojo head to Manchester United for 20 million euros.

 

The deal sees Nani spend the coming season at Sporting on loan, with the Old Trafford club continuing to pay the Portuguese players wages.  

 

In other transfer news, QPR’s Brazilian international goalkeeper Júlio Cesar yesterday agreed terms with Benfica which will see him stay at the Portuguese champions for the next two seasons.
