The former boxing manager feared her head was going to pop after suffering a reaction to cosmetic surgery in Belgium earlier this month.

Kellie, a transexual, told the Sunday Mirror: "I was bleeding out of my eyes and I was in unimaginable pain.

"Then I just felt my head inflating like a balloon. It was getting bigger and bigger by the second, I could hardly see. I feared it was going to explode."

Bleeding from her eyes it's thought Kellie was moments from death, and doctors fought for ten hours to save her life.

The star spent four days in a coma in intensive care with breathing equipment keeping her alive.

A tube, which was inserted to remove excess blood from her face and brain, is still being used to reduce swelling.

The pictures from the clinic in Belgium show Kellie in a black tracksuit with a seriously swollen face, cuts all over and blood everywhere.

Holding a bandage in her hand, the star looks uncomfortable and in pain as the picture's taken.

Now recovering in her family home in Kent, the star said she's angry at herself for thinking she could attempt such 'radical' surgery.

She added: "I am so angry with myself for attempting to do something as radical as I had wanted.

"But it is every transsexual’s dream to leave home one day without anyone even thinking for a second that you could have once been a man."

Back on Twitter, it seems Kellie is safely in the hands of British surgeons and is getting back to a normal life.

Just this morning she tweeted: "Off to see the UK doctor today who is now looking after me and monitoring my healing since returning from Belgium.[sic]"

She added: "Have to say how lucky I am to have 3 wonderful daughters and so proud of them all @emmafmp @sophiemaloney @xlmaloneyx thank you girls."
