SHE'S known for her ties with the upper class but it seems Elizabeth Hurley has her sights firmly set on the monarchy in her new TV series The Royals.

The 49-year-old model-turned-actress has taken a starring role in the new TV series written by channel E!.

And if the new trailer is anything to go by, Liz's role in the show is sure to catch the eye of many an admirer.

The former Estee Lauder model is pictured more often than not in her underwear as she flaunts her incredible body in the short clip.

With the words 'Money, sex, drugs, power' rolling around the background music, Liz and other members of the cast are pictured behaving in a way many would never associate with the royal family.

The show is sold as a drama about a "fictional British Royal family" set in London. The family live in a glamorous world of opulence that caters to any and every desire - but being a royal also comes with a price tag of duty, destiny and intense public scrutiny.

While Liz, who plays Queen Helena in the show, is pictured stripping down to her underwear to seduce a man who notably isn't her husband - King Simon, her children are up to far, far worse.

Her daughter, Ophelia, is seen jumping from a balcony hand-in-hand with a young boy before hitting  nightclub and flashing more than just her knickers.

Liz's character is heard lecturing her husband, saying: "The English crown has been protected and defended for thousands of years, we are not a normal family.

"You are the King of England, act like it dammit."

The new show is set to air in England on March 15, 2015, and will no doubt set tongues wagging as caparisons are made to our own monarchy.
