Expert, energetic use of 3D technology makes all the difference to The House Of Magic, breezy animated fare in which an abandoned kitten takes sanctuary in the spooky mansion of elderly magician Lawrence (voiced by Eugene Levy).
Thunder (Murray Blue) is adored by Lawrence but given the cold shoulder by other animals and the magician’s mercenary nephew Daniel (Grant George).
Bright colours and slapstick comedy are the order of the day as the camera glides and swoops to capture Thunder sliding down a banister, birds soaring through the air and all kinds of objects being hurled towards the viewer including pancakes, donuts and gobstoppers.
