Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition Leads The Charge On PlayStation This Week

It's a pretty big week for new game releases on the PlayStation homefront, including one new game for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 that simply wants you to go straight to hell. That's right, Diablo III: Reaper of Souls – Ultimate Evil Edition is finally here, bringing another 10 games along for the ride.

Yes,
Diablo III came out quite a while back on the PC and a vanilla edition even arrived on the PlayStation 3 earlier this year, but this marks the first time the 2.5D dungeon crawling loot-a-thon has appeared on Sony's newest home console and, whether you're playing on the PS4 or finally picking it up for the PS3, Ultimate Evil Edition is the most complete version of the game.

Including all of the regular content, as well as the Reaper of Souls expansion, players can also look forward to diving into some additional content, including an area themed after The Last of Us and some baddies that were created with Shadow of the Colossus in mind.

But that's just the tip of the iceberg for this unexpectedly packed week. For starters, the
Play 2014 promotion continues this week with Counterspy. In this game, you play a Bond-esque super spy who has been sent in behind enemy lines during the Cold War to prevent a major catastrophe. And, just like all of the other Play 2014 games,Counterspy is a cross-buy title for all three PlayStation consoles, so you can buy it on your PS4, continue playing later on your Vita, then switch over to your PS3 seamlessly.

New dual-stick shooter Crimsonland had players unleashing their fury against massive insects and alien invaders a couple of weeks ago on the PlayStation 4 and, this week, the Vita version of the game is ready to roll. And, yep, it's also a cross-buy game in case you've already purchased the PS4 version.

A handful of other indie titles are also launching on PlayStation consoles this week, beginning with Gravity Badgers for the PlayStation Vita.

“Step into the space suit of valiant gravity badger Captain T Bayback as he ventures into the deadly depths of deep space to save his friends, family, and the universe itself from the threat of the deadly Evil Honey Badgers, AKA the Hellsett,” reads the description from the
launch announcement. And, really, with a description like that, how can your interest not be piqued?

Hotline Miami finally arrives on the PS4 this week, with Kung Fu Rabbit offering up some adorable, yet slightly violent, platforming action on the PS3.

The Last Tinker: City of Colors arrives on the PlayStation 4 this week, blending familiar platforming adventures with some new ideas to make for a bright, colorful, family friendly adventure. We've got a review coming on that one within the next couple of days, so stay tuned for more details.

Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare finally brings its unique blend of adorable shrubberies and tactical, class-based combat to the PS4 and PS3 this week, while Vita gamers with a love for RPGs will be treated to a double dose of content in the form ofTales of Xillia 2 and
Sword Art Online: Hallow Fragment
